FIRST EDITION. Octavo, pp. xxi, [1], 274. Publishers’ blue cloth with silver titles and decoration to spine, in price-clipped pictorial dust-jacket designed by Alan Crisp. Spine tips lightly rubbed; very minor tea-stain affecting pp. 270-4 and rear endpapers. Jacket slightly crumpled with nicks & creases to edge and very minor loss head of spine. A Very Good copy in Good jacket.
 
Published under the Author’s nickname, based upon her experiences as a bartender in New South Wales during the Great Depression, and the basis for the film of the same name. Introduction by Dymphna Cusack, Edmonds’ later employer, who along with Florence James mentored Edmonds and encouraged her to write. Scarce, particularly in jacket.
