Original quarter black cloth with printed paper title onlay to spine; red paper-covered boards. Edges uncut. Housed in custom-made black slipcase. Several related images loosely inserted. Corners bruised; minor wear to spine tips and small stain to edge of title label. Inner hinges marked by now-removed adhesive tape; remaining tape still adheres to p 59 at hinge, otherwise a very good copy. Signed by the Author to limitation leaf. No annotation or inscriptions.
Sought-after classic sporting autobiography by the American World Heavyweight Champion and Light Heavyweight Champion. Tunney (1897-1978) retired undefeated in 1928 and his career highlight was the Long Count Fight in which he successfully defended his title against Jack Dempsey. Scarce, particularly in good condition.
