FIRST EDITION. xvi, 281 pp. 18 plates with tissue guards including frontispiece of the Earl of Durham and colour plate of The Butte of Warlencourt. 18 folding maps in pocket to rear. Original green cloth with gilt titles to spine and gilt crest to upper board. This is the more elaborate cloth variant with gilt embossed titles and DLI crest. Head of spine a little rubbed; free endpapers toned and textblock edge & Appendix/rear endpapers lightly foxed otherwise contents clean and bright. A Near Fine copy.
The rarest history of the 8th Battalion, compiled from war diaries, documents and maps provided by past and current members. Scarce, especially so in this condition.
