Topics covered include "great tasks performed by racehorses", "artificial qualities, e.g. speed" and "our present racers". Publisher’s bottle-green cloth with paper title label to spine. Cloth a little rubbed and stained to rear with bumped upper corner, and minor wear to corners and spine tips. Minor sporadic foxing largely confined to title page, tissue-guards & plate margins; 1-inch tear to edge of mount to plate XVI (plate unaffected) and minor nicks to margins of 2 other plates; corner crease to title page and tissue-guard of frontis.

A very good example in the publisher’s original cloth. Loder p.375.
