SECOND EDITION. Octavo. xii, 115,[1]. Colour frontispiece of Trout and Grayling plus 19 numbered hand-coloured plates of “flies”, each with tissue guard (complete). Book Condition: Very Good. Publisher’s dark green cloth with gilt titles to upper board and arabesque decoration in blind to boards; canary yellow endpapers.  Minor surface soiling to boards and corners a little bruised. Small pale stain to upper board; edges rubbed. Gift inscription to front pastedown dated 1855 and name handwritten top edge title page; small pin-holes to rfep; sporadic foxing mainly to tissue guards.
 
A very good example of this sought-after angling classic, which includes observations on the Trout and Grayling as well as notes on suitable tackle and detailed instructions on the manufacture of suitable artificial lures.
