Undated circa 1912. FIRST EDITION. Octavo. xii, 294 pp. 48 mainly photographic illustrations including frontispiece portrait of Sun Yat Sen with autograph, and Flag plate in colour; fold-out map in colour of the Chinese Empire & Japan, plus map in text. Book Condition: Very Good. Publishers’ red cloth with gilt titles to spine and upper board and decoration in blind. Cover cloth edge-rubbed with bruised lower corners, a little creasing at spine tips and very lightly sunned spine. Light toning to ffep otherwise contents very clean and crisp; no annotation or inscriptions.
 
Biography of the Chinese revolutionary and founding father of the Republic, by his fellow medic and long-term close friend James Cantlie, Dean of the College of Medicine of Hong Kong. Rare.
