Large octavo. v, 63 pp printed to recto only with ruled margins to text, red and black printed title page and initial letters & embellishments in red. Book Condition: Very Good. Handsome full morocco with brass clasps, five raised bands, gilt titles to spine and upper board, and heavy gilt and blind decoration to boards and compartments. All edges stained red; marbled endpapers with gilt dentelles. Printed in Newcastle by Matthew Stephenson Dodds "the most important nautical book supplier in Newcastle" (Hunt, p31). Sporadic light foxing; stamp of Tyne and Wear County Council's Archive Department to half-title and rear plain free endpaper only. A little surface scuffing to boards and spine tips. Rare. The British Library list a copy on vellum and describe only twelve copies printed on paper, though we are unable to verify this.
